Content Policy
Effective June 23, 2026
Overview
404Fault is a professional community for AI builders. This Content Policy defines what is and is not acceptable on the Platform. It applies to all content you publish, share, or transmit through the Service — including projects, prompts, rules, comments, and profile information.
By using the Platform, you agree to these standards. Violation may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
1. Content Rights — You Must Own What You Share
Before uploading any content, confirm that:
- You created the content yourself, OR
- You have explicit written permission from the rights holder to publish it on a public platform, OR
- The content is in the public domain or licensed for free redistribution under terms you comply with.
Simply making code or content open source does not grant the right to copy it without attribution or outside of its license terms.
2. Strictly Prohibited Content
The following types of content are not permitted on 404Fault under any circumstances:
Stolen or Proprietary Code
Source code, configuration files, trade secrets, or confidential information belonging to an employer, client, or third party that you were not authorized to publish. This includes internal corporate tooling, unreleased products, and contractor deliverables.
Malware and Malicious Code
Viruses, trojans, ransomware, spyware, keyloggers, backdoors, exploit payloads, or any code whose primary or significant purpose is to harm systems, steal data, or gain unauthorized access.
Illegal Content
Any content that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction or in the jurisdictions where it may be accessed. This includes copyright infringement, defamation, fraud, and content that violates privacy or data protection laws.
Sexual or Adult Content
Sexually explicit material, pornography, nudity, or adult-oriented content of any kind. 404Fault is a professional platform.
Hate Speech and Extremism
Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites hatred, discrimination, or violence against any person or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics. Political propaganda, terrorist content, and extremist ideology are prohibited.
Harassment and Doxxing
Content designed to harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate individuals. Publishing private information about real people (addresses, phone numbers, financial data) without consent.
Spam and Deceptive Content
Mass-produced low-quality content, misleading titles or descriptions, fake projects, or content intended to manipulate search rankings or gaming platform metrics.
3. AI-Generated Content — Disclosure Required
The Platform embraces AI tools. You may use AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to help build or document your projects. However, you must:
- Disclose in your project description when content is substantially AI-generated
- Review AI-generated content before publishing — you are responsible for what you post
- Verify that AI-generated code does not reproduce copyrighted material from training data
- Not present AI-generated work as entirely your own original creation without disclosure
Transparency builds trust. A clearly labeled AI-assisted project is welcome; a misrepresented one is not.
4. Open-Source Projects
When you mark a project as open source:
- You confirm you hold the rights to license the content under the selected license
- Other users may add your project to their library by reference
- If you enable forking, others may create derivative works under the same license
- You cannot revoke rights already granted to users who accessed the project under its declared license
Do not mark a project as open source if you do not have full rights to do so.
5. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content that you believe violates this Policy, please use the report function on the relevant content, or contact us directly. We review all reports and take appropriate action, though we cannot guarantee a specific timeline or outcome in every case.
False or malicious reports may themselves result in account action.
6. Enforcement
404Fault reserves the right to take any of the following actions in response to policy violations, at our sole discretion:
- Remove or hide violating content
- Issue a warning to the account holder
- Temporarily suspend access to the Platform
- Permanently terminate the account
- Report illegal content to relevant law enforcement authorities
We aim to be consistent and fair. If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, contact us to request a review.
7. Updates
This Content Policy may be updated as the Platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated to registered users. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance.
