404Fault ("we", "us", "Platform") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share data when you use our Service. It applies globally and is written to be understandable regardless of your location.

- Account information: Your full name, email address, and optional profile photo when you register.
- Profile data: Display name, biography, role, and any other profile fields you choose to fill in.
- Content you publish: Projects, prompts, AI rules, comments, and associated media files you upload to the Platform.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, actions taken (likes, follows, comments), and timestamps of those actions.
- API access data: If you create developer tokens, we store token metadata (prefix, scopes, creation date) but never the raw token value.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform
- Enable collaboration features (follows, likes, comments, library)
- Send notifications relevant to your activity
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Content Policy
- Improve the Platform based on aggregate usage patterns
- Respond to your support requests
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
The Platform is built on Google Firebase, which provides authentication, database (Firestore), and file storage services. Your data is stored on Google's infrastructure and is subject to Google's privacy and security practices. Firebase is SOC 2 certified and complies with GDPR, CCPA, and other international data protection standards.
We may use additional third-party services for analytics or infrastructure. Any such services are selected with privacy in mind, and we do not share personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary for service operation.
5. Data Sharing
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Publicly visible content: Projects, prompts, and rules you mark as public are visible to all registered users of the Platform.
- Open-source projects: Projects you mark as open source may be added to other users' libraries by reference.
- Legal obligation: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Platform, our users, or the public.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and content data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal profile data. However, content you contributed publicly (comments, published projects) may remain on the Platform in anonymized or attributed form unless you explicitly request deletion of that content.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Receive your data in a portable format

8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Authentication tokens are hashed and never stored in plain text. No internet transmission is 100% secure; you use the Service at your own risk.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
10. International Users
The Platform operates globally. By using the Service, you consent to the processing of your information in countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. We take appropriate steps to ensure adequate protection regardless of transfer location.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via the Platform or email. Continued use of the Service after changes indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
