Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective June 23, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the 404Fault platform ("Platform", "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service, regardless of location. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of Service

404Fault is an open developer collaboration hub where AI builders can share projects, prompts, and workflow rules. The Platform allows users to publish work, discover others' projects, and collaborate through an open-source model.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Providing accurate and current registration information
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized account use

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

4. User Content and Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you upload, post, or otherwise make available through the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you grant 404Fault a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

Platform role: 404Fault acts as a neutral hosting provider. We are not the owner of your content, nor are we responsible for the accuracy, legality, or quality of User Content. You bear full legal responsibility for everything you upload or publish.

Open-source projects: If you mark a project as open source and assign a license (MIT, Apache-2.0, GPL-3.0, etc.), other users may interact with that content under the terms of the chosen license. You represent that you have the right to apply such a license.

5. Content You Upload — Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you upload complies with these Terms and all applicable laws. Specifically, you confirm that:

  • You own or have rights to the content. You must own, or have explicit written permission to share, any code, images, text, or other material you upload. Do not upload content copied from an employer, client, or third party without authorization.
  • No stolen or proprietary code. Do not upload source code, trade secrets, or confidential materials that belong to a company or individual without their explicit consent.
  • No malware or harmful code. Do not upload viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, spyware, or any software designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
  • No illegal content. Do not upload content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or the jurisdictions where it may be viewed, including but not limited to content that infringes copyright, defames individuals, or violates privacy laws.
  • No sexual or adult content. The Platform is a professional community. Do not upload sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult content of any kind.
  • No hate speech or extremist content. Do not upload content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic. Political propaganda and extremist ideology are prohibited.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Platform supports and encourages AI-assisted work. However, you must disclose when a project, prompt, or rule was substantially generated by an AI tool. You remain responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing it and for ensuring it complies with these Terms. The existence of AI assistance does not transfer responsibility away from you.

7. Platform Enforcement

404Fault reserves the right, but not the obligation, to review, flag, modify, or remove any User Content that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We may also suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

Removal of content or account termination does not limit any other remedies available to us or to affected parties under applicable law.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR CONTINUOUSLY AVAILABLE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, 404FAULT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, NOR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately. Content you have shared publicly may remain visible to others if not explicitly removed prior to termination.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by generally accepted principles of international commercial law, with the intent of being enforceable in all jurisdictions. Any disputes shall be resolved in good faith through direct communication first, and if unresolved, by binding arbitration.

12. Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at the email listed on the Platform.
